Take a Break, Discover Something New – Short Term Accommodation with Heart
Short Term Accommodation (STA), often called respite, is not just a change of place—it is a chance to rest, reset, and reconnect in a safe, supportive space. For many people with disability, it is also a time to explore new surroundings, build skills, and enjoy meaningful activities that may not fit into their usual routine.
Whether you are taking a short break from home, or your regular supports are not available, STA o ers a flexible, supportive choice. The NDIS typically covers up to 28 days of STA per year, and you can use that time how it suits you—maybe a weekend here and there, or a couple of weeks in one go. Support includes everything you would need for a comfortable stay: personal care, meals, accommodation, and engaging activities based on what you enjoy.
What makes STA with Sunflower different? It is not just about providing a place to stay—it is about creating a space where you feel safe, valued, and understood.
We do not believe in cookie-cutter care. Our team works closely with you, your loved ones, and your Support Coordinator to create an STA experience that reflects your interests and goals. Whether it is learning a new recipe, attending a community event, or simply taking a breather, your plan is made just for you.
Our STA homes are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully set up for a variety of support needs. We make sure every space is welcoming and accessible, so you can feel relaxed and at ease.
Time away can also mean time to learn. Our STA includes opportunities to build confidence, try new things, and connect with others. From group outings to quiet one-on-one support, we will help you make the most of each moment.
We understand how important carers are—and how much they need time to recharge. STA gives families peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are in caring, capable hands.
Not sure how STA fits into your NDIS plan? Our team is here to help. We will walk you through the process, explain your options, and make sure the funding works for you.
Our approach is built on collaboration. We stay in touch with Support Coordinators, LACs, and other services to make sure your stay supports your broader goals and care plan.
